Collaboration: Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, MD
In 2015-2017 ECRC was honored to work with the scientists and educational department of the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Annapolis, Maryland. We designed, piloted and evaluated over a two-year period a curriculum for their “Ecosystems on the Edge” video series. See the Gallery and example downloads below.  The 15 videos highlight, in about 7 minutes each, the specialized research of these renowned scientists.  The motivator lessons include students recreating this research in the classroom through activities that include a MOTIVATOR MAP FOR EDUCATORS built on Next Generation Science Standards, an embedded professional video followed by a MTV quiz game, complete with a surprise brain break.
