The Drum Speaks Motivator Map challenges all participants to reveal just how much they know about African History. Using the words and lyrics to a song by the group "The Sounds of Blackness", participants match key lines in the song to cards with details one should know about when hearing the words in the song. This is a great challenge and this is a great fun challenge because the music always gets the class swinging and swaying in rhythm with the music and words to the song. The full cluster provides a full Motivator Map with printable lyrics, challenge cards and an answer key. We have also put this great song, "The Drum Speaks" embedded into a power point so the music is handy and ready to go. And by the way the full title of the song and the CD is entitled "Africa to America the Journey of the Drum". This is a great way to teach African History.
