Animated Teaching Assistant Moses Safford, in a very powerful presentation, teaches his viewers about his job as a chief packer for a long voyage and the job performed by his ship. The USS Constellation, now harbored in Baltimore as a museum, was a windjammer sailing vessel and a member of the African Squadron whose job was to intercept slave ships off the coast of Africa. Based in part on Moses' diary, the slides include historical images and a slide with sounds of what it was like for those imprisoned on a slave ship…listen and make sure this is appropriate for your audience. The drawing of Moses is by our graphic artist and a testament to her talent.
