Building a Realistic Canopy Crane
Building your own canopy crane that wobbles with the "breeze" and presents a very realistic construction-able science tool is the ultimate in creating Motivation. Inspired by construction cranes, scientists now use these giant cranes to study the layers of the rainforest including a full view over the forest. ECRCME founder had a chance to ride one in Panama and then the Signature Materials captain of ECRCME was able to replicate the safe but wobbly nature of being in a crane through unique PVC pipe construction including wheels that make all the difference. Although it takes a bit to make one, the uses and thrills are endless as your participants navigate and emulate scientists work in the field. Great fun...great adventure...with this GO FOR IT research tool to boost your STEM program.
